Entry Information

There are no formal qualifications to enter either the marathon or 50-K.

However, runners should be both comfortable with the marathon distance and comfortable running trails including being self-sufficient, navigating trails and dealing with minor obstacles such as snow, ice, blowdowns, roots, rocks, water and the like.

For Pre-registration:

Step 1: Send Ed the following information in an email:

Name, address (including zip code), telephone number, email address, age as of March 5, 2011, M/F and distance (whether you intend to run the marathon or 50K).

You can change your mind about the 50k option up until the middle of the race, provided you reach the lake aide station by 12:00.

Step 2: Download and print off the Official Application. BRING IT with you on race day, DO NOT MAIL it.

You can download the Official Application click here.

DO NOT send any money, checks, cash, etc. Please do not mail the application. Please bring your completed application with your payment to the race. We will gather them up on the bus and at the registration tables.

Active duty military and previous winners do not pay to race. You will still have to complete an application prior to the race or on race day. If it is up on the site when you check go ahead and download it, complete it and bring it with you. Also bring either $10.00 or $20.00.

Since the weather is always a factor it is strongly recommended that you check the website as the race gets closer. We will be watching the trail, the creek, trailhead parking lots and weather every day. You should definitely check the website or get a hold of me as we get closer to the race day.

The website when it is updated will be your best source of information. However, you are welcome to email or phone me if you need additional information. Training runs will occur on January 8 and 22 and February 5 and 19. Please check the website for additional information about the training runs.

Please remember the water bottle rule (no water bottle - no racing) and that our real wild card tends to be the weather. The race can be cancelled by the park services involved up until the day of the race. If there is any question stay in touch and watch the website.
