There are no formal qualifications to enter either the marathon or 50-K.
However, runners should be both comfortable with the marathon distance and
comfortable running trails including being self-sufficient, navigating trails
and dealing with minor obstacles such as snow, ice, blowdowns, roots, rocks,
water and the like.

Since the weather is always a factor it is strongly recommended that you
check the website as the race gets closer. We will be watching the trail,
the creek, trailhead parking lots and weather every day. You should
definitely check the website or get a hold of me as we get closer to the
race day.
The website when it is updated will be your best source of information.
However, you are welcome to email or phone me if you need additional
information. Training runs will occur on January 8 and 22 and February 5
and 19. Please check the website for additional information about the
training runs.
Please remember the water bottle rule (no water bottle - no racing) and that
our real wild card tends to be the weather. The race can be cancelled by the
park services involved up until the day of the race. If there is any
question stay in touch and watch the website.
